Looking for something to do with the kids?
We actually have some neat things to do here in
Enid, Oklahoma!
Go Roller Skating!
We love to take our daughter roller skating at
Skatetown, 905 Overland Trail in Enid, OK. I (Kelly) used to skate there a lot when I was a kid.
I was pleasantly surprised that it has been painted
inside and that I can actually do the "Limbo." It's a
great mix between "memories" and a new place to
escape for an hour or two.
We recently had our daughter's birthday party at Skatetown and it was a very easy, affordable place for a birthday party and it's fun for everyone. Our daughter thought it was funny that I've been going to birthday parties at Skatetown since I was a kid.
It's at 905 Overland Trail in Enid, OK, (580)
233-5360. Check out their schedules online.
Play at Leonardo's!
If you haven't been to Leonardo's Discovery
Warehouse & Adventure Quest, you're missing
out!
The warehouse has been transformed into a
hands-on art and science museum. Don't let the
word "museum" scare the kids away - it's all about
learning while having FUN!
There are so many things to do there, like make
music, pretend you're an astronaut or fireman, play
games, pet a chinchilla, make something in the
carpentry shop, paint in the art area, dress up and
act out a play while watching yourself on the TV
monitor, go through the black-light maze, and many other things in between.
Do you wish you were a kid again so you could play in a huge wooden castle with a ship, bridges and spiral slide that makes you scream? Go play at Adventure Quest!

Be sure to ask about a year membership - it's a real bargain! Go to 200 E. Maple in downtown Enid, OK, (580) 233-ARTS (2787).
Ride the Train!
From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the local
Kiwanis open the rides at Meadowlake Park. It's
another place I used to love when I was a child and
our daughter loves it, too.
There are kiddie cars and airplanes, which are only 75 cents each, and a carousel and a train for only $1.50 per person. Very cheap entertainment!
The train is great. It's about a mile long, takes about 10 minutes (depending on who the conductor is), goes over 2 bridges and through a tunnel. Yes, the whole family can ride the train.
The entrance is on West Rupe Street, just East of Van Buren. Hours of the rides vary, but normally open weekday evenings and weekend afternoons & evenings.
Go-Carts
Speed around the track at Comet Go-Carts! My
grandpa used to take me there a lot with my cousins. Our daughter was SO excited when she turned 4 years old because she could finally drive on the kid's track. She had a blast, although she couldn't see over the steering wheel!
It's at 3200 N. 4th in Enid, OK, (580) 234-8689.
Splash at the Water Park!
We even have a water park - Splash Zone! Another summer time place to go.
Splash Zone is at 1122 Trails West in Enid, OK, (580) 242-5152.
Go Bowling
Bowling is fun for the family at Oakwood Bowl.
Here's the trick: Take the kids! Then you have an
excuse to put the gutter bumpers down so you
won't ever get a ball in the gutter!
Oakwood Bowl is at 4709 W Owen K Garriott Rd., (580) 233-8712.
We'll add more things to do as we can!
Let us know if we should include something here
that you enjoy with the family and kids.
